About Javea and the surrounding area
The coastal town of Javea or (Xábia in the local language) is located at the most easterly part of Spain between Denia and Moraira and shelters under the leigh of the Montgó Mountain and National Park. Rising some 753 meters above sea level, the shape of the mountain resembles an elephant´s head and trunk.

The Spanish climate on this eastern stretch of coastline is famous for it's sun drenched summer beaches and pleasantly clement winters. The urban areas are dotted with brilliant white villas, often decorated with bright red and pink bougainvillea. The countryside is famous for it's snow-like pink and white almond blossom in February and for the fragrant orange blossom in April.

About Montgó
The Montgó mountain rises some 753 meters (2,470 feet) above sea level and divides the Mediterranean port towns of Jávea and Denia in the Alicante Province. It is the final spur of the Cordillera Prebética Mountain Range and joins with the Cap de San Antonio form the most easterly point of the Iberian peninsula.
